About CARLE

CARLE (pronounced “CAR-lee”) – Curated Asset Repository for Learning Excellence – is a collection of over 600 open educational resources (OER) and other assets created by faculty at the California Community Colleges, California State University and University of California, as part of projects funded by Learning Lab.

WHY use CARLE?
• Ready-to-share OER save faculty and students time and money.

• Practical tools developed and tested by faculty, such as curricular and pedagogical innovations and adaptive learning technologies, may improve student learning and persistence.

• Content may be used as-is or adapted to meet individual instructor needs, depending on the open source license.

WHAT resources are available in CARLE?
CARLE features resources that range from Canvas courses and links to custom-built online courseware to lecture notes, class exercises, worksheets, journal articles and more — currently, most resources are for STEM disciplines. CARLE is a living repository that will be updated with both STEM and non-STEM resources as they become available.

WHO can use CARLE?
Anyone! Resources are open for use by the public. Be sure to note specific licenses that define permissions for assets you intend to use.
