The Cohort Coordinator for Data Science Education is a five-year project aimed at facilitating communication, collaboration, and the sharing of ideas and data between California Education Learning Lab’s Data Science Grand Challenge project teams. As Cohort Coordinator, our activities will include:
-facilitating meta-learning across projects through resource/knowledge sharing and fostering continuous
iteration/improvement of projects;
-identifying synergies across projects leading to greater efficiency and collaboration;
-creating a Professional Learning Community for sustained engagement of faculty and students from diverse backgrounds while promoting interdisciplinary civic learning;
-aligning project outcomes toward a shared vision, including increased equity and inclusion in data science;
-creating an evaluation framework that results in actionable sharing/scaling and amplified project impact; and
-performing outreach and communication to increase awareness of and support for data science education, building a broad-based coalition that can help drive positive systemic change.
The overarching goal is to build equitable and accessible educational resources and we believe that through the activities outlined above, we will amplify the impact and sustainability of the individual projects
