This project proposes an accelerated development of an artificial intelligence (AI) tool to fit the goals of Learning Lab’s AI Challenge RFP’s Track 2. G𝜋T is a mock interview bot that supports equitable participation by providing students with invaluable experience in an authentic interview setting. G𝜋T can be customized by both instructors and students to simultaneously meet the goals of each. Instructors from any discipline customize the bot to formulate interview questions based on course content, satisfy the course’s learning goals, and enhance students’ understanding of the material. Students customize the bot to simulate an interview for an authentic job posting for a job to which they may apply one day, setting them up to thrive in a real future interview. G𝜋T provides real-time personalized feedback to coach students on their performance and provide instructors with data on content understanding. The goal driving the project is: Contribute to closing equity gaps by providing faculty from California public higher education institutions with G𝜋T, an OER customizable chatbot with supporting materials, which allows their students to participate in course-content-based authentic mock job interviews to increase content understanding and preparedness to competitively enter the job market.

This project anticipates impacting 120 students and 14 faculty/instructors/TAs.
